We are pleased to present the second edition of our anniversary newsletter series, celebrating 25 years of BGE TECHNOLOGY GmbH. This edition offers a detailed look at advancements in repository technology from 2007 to 2012, as well as insights into current projects and collaborations.

Highlights:

  • Advancements in Flow Barriers for the Closure of the Asse Mine: Development and implementation of innovative injection methods and materials to seal the excavation-damaged zone (EDZ).
  • Borehole Sealing in Evaporitic Environments: A multi-barrier concept for sealing boreholes in the Mercia Mudstone Group (MMG), drawing from international project experiences.
  • Looking Back: Advancements that set standards: From ESDRED to VSG – milestones in radioactive waste management.

This edition features an editorial by Dr. Jürgen Krone, former Managing Director and a key figure in BGE TEC’s history:
